Without Walls

Without Walls is Urban Outfitter's new fitness/active lifestyle brand that launched earlier this month encouraging us millennials to get out, get moving, and have fun! Sounds like a movement that everyone is ready for, myself included. WoW (Without Walls) makes it super easy to explore the world and look good doing it with all of the amazing brands they carry focusing on activewear in the categories of fitness, surf, and trail gear along with their own brand designed in house.

Mokuyobi Threads is super excited to be one of the brands that WoW is carrying, first in their pop-up store at Space 15 Twenty in Hollywood, California and then spreading to Urban Outfitters stores throughout the country including NYC, Costa Mesa, Santa Monica, and San Francisco later this month and in Portland, Seattle, Cambridge, and Boulder in April.

Check out their brand new website with some seriously fresh gear that will make you want to leave your computer screen behind, get outside, and set your sights on being a happier and healthier you.

Update: all of the patches have sold out!

Mokuyobi Threads F/W 2014

While I know we're all just starting to gear up for summer (or really any temperature above 50 degrees), retail buyers are already on the prowl for fall merchandise. Mokuyobi recently showed at the NY NOW show in manhattan as well as at POOL Trade show in Vegas for the fall season. I made a super fancy look book this year featuring my friend and doppelgänger, Jessica who literally everyone who came by the booth thought was me in the catalog. Hilarious.

Check out the sweet new products you can expect from Mokuyobi this fall, launching mid July.

If you are a buyer or retailer and would like a printed copy of the catalog, shoot me an email at Julie@MokuyobiThreads.com and I will gladly send one out to you!

Custom Projects

I've been working on some custom orders lately. It's always exciting when I get an email from someone who's super pumped about something I've made in the past that I don't make anymore, an older fabric I have "retired", or a new fabric that they want something made out of. That's when custom orders happen!

This time I was contacted by two people, one guy from San Fran wanted a matching 3D glasses backpack and t-shirt to wear at Coachella. Him and his friends all wear yellow shirts on Friday so keep an eye out for these beauties if you'll be there.

Another California based individual wanted a meat print backpack but I've been getting requests for a lot of them lately so I made an extra which is available in the Mokuyobi Threads Etsy shop!

I made the tee a Unisex Medium so it's a bit big on me, but you get the idea.

New Backpack in the Works

I've been trying to make some new backpacks but it's taken a while but with various delays: getting a custom color mint nylon made, waiting for new tags, finding time to sew it together, etc. Here's one I sketched out back in July of 2013 that I finished a few months ago. Something similar could be coming your way in future seasons at Mokuyobi Threads with added new tag that just happens to match the colors of the bag perfectly.
